Media - A Madhouse Mayhem

Salman Khan has been convicted in a 20 years old poaching case. I feel really bad for him and it is nothing but mockery of Indian judiciary system. Justice delayed is justice denied to both the sides. In my opinion everyone involved should be acquitted purely on the humanitarian ground for denying justice for this long. 

I know that Salman Khan and defense prosecutors are equally responsible for dragging the case ridiculously long. The strategy was to use the loopholes in the judicial system and simply keep getting next dates so that one day the case will be scrapped.


However my agenda today is to show the value bankruptcy in Indian Television media. Since the day of case hearing till date, I am not able to get my regular news on any channel. All channels are hijacked by the single news. Agreed that he is a celebrity and has big fan following and you may make it a prime news, but the question is how long and for how many hours in the day. Why are we so biased about celebrity status in this country? Everyone knows the answer is Target Rating Point (TRP) aka MONEY. But is there no conscience and moral values left with the media houses. Even the channel boasting of truth, authenticity, dedication to people rights are chewing on this case since last few days.
  • How long did you play the news of soldiers and police killed in Kashmir while neutralizing terrorists? 
  • How long did you follow up, I said follow up, the rape cases? 
  • How long did you cover the parliament logjam and bring the unruly, barbaric, blot on the democracy MPs to senses?
  • How well did you play the CWG golden performances by our youths?
Similar things had had happened in the past when media has demonstrated ethical bankruptcy and this will be just another incidence but I feel we people deserve a lot better. This is a country of 1.3 billion people. There are hell lot of issues in our country that if any channel honestly want to cover they will get number of simmering, aching, painful, eye-popping stories everyday. This is what they want right? TRP. So why not help people in their struggle while you mint your money. Does Salman Khan or for that matter any of these celebrity need your help?




  • Are some people more equal than others to these media houses? 
  • Was life of Sheena Bohra so very precious than thousands of women getting victimized all over India?
  • Was Arushi the only minor child getting killed by parents? What about hundreds of female foeticides, honor killings, child trafficking and child marriages?

You write off the previous rape story just because you get a new and more interesting one every day. You forget a gang rape by 2 because you get a story with 5 people involved.
You even go ahead and produce a movie in vain attempt to absolve rich parents, whereas thousands of wrongly convicted screams fall on deaf years.
You open yet another so called news channel and earn your living by digging into celebrity graves like Sunanda Pushkar.

Shame! Shame !! Shame!!!

How cheap, how so very cheap kind of journalism is that. Get yourselves and your activities a new name because that definitely is not journalism.

Time to come to senses guys. And if the media is not coming to senses, it is we people to come to senses and reject this selective Page 3 reporting.

Smothering education in masks  16 months is not a short period. We have seen enormous amount of work getting done in this Corona pandemic. Healthcare upgrade was phenomenal even if far from sufficient. IT industry flourished a lot in this period because they have accepted the new normal and adapted to the demands.
