Good Bye 2020

Let's keep aside the different religious faiths and beliefs about incarnation and all and keep it simple. We have been gifted with this one LIFE And the life consists of uncountable presents - the NOW moments. We have been getting advice from all human cultures to live in present as past is dead and dark and future is imaginary. The only thing we should carry with us from past in learning. Of course there is no harm to carry on memories from past life and of your loved ones, with the condition that those give you positivity and power. And still you should hardly waste your time dwelling in them. Same is the case for future. It's an unknown time and space terrain where the rays of the Sun of our Life haven't reached yet. Hence it is definitely not wise to waste your time too much in contemplations and imaginations.

If you dwell in your past or dream about your future, you are doing that in present which is your LIFE and in the process you are stealing the moments from your LIFE. Relish your memories and have plans for future but keep these sessions brief or do it when you are at complete leisure, for e.g. when you are on a long travel or are in a waiting queue.

A famous quote from Steve Jobs best states it,

All I ask is that, you do the best work of your Life today.

A best way to live your life can be found in this ask. If you simply try and walk this one liner, you will definitely see a revolutionary change in Life. Let me warn you that, you should not misinterpret the above quote for asking you to work harder or to slog. Whatever you do, just do it with dedication and honesty.

For the similar values and principles, I admire Zen philosophy. It requires you to practice mindfulness. Fill your mind with one task at a time. No multi-tasking, no other thought whatsoever. When a Zen follower was asked the secret of the peaceful and contently Life they live in the shrine he said,

I pray when I pray

I eat when I eat

I drink when I drink

I work when I work

I sleep when I sleep

Looks very trivial right? But that's not what we all do in our Life. And it is quite hard to practice. When we pray, a train of thoughts is running in our mind which has nothing to do with praying. When we eat, we are hardly eating. We gossip, we quarrel, we read, we watch TV, we fiddle with phones. We do everything that we can do to disrespect the food - the very reason we are alive.

Mindfulness is to indulge into the activity  with your mind and body.

The passing year was  little hard on us and has taught us many valuable lessons. If we simply continue to implement the learnings of this year, we can have a contently and happier Life. Also I suggest that we welcome new year with the resolve of being mindful and live in present - the present moment.

Wish you all a very happy, mindful and cheerful year ahead!!!

P. S.

A reminder of our activity that we have been following since past few years.
