May You Break Free
The knowledge that we acquire in this world and the educational degrees we collect to decorate our name plates are the real barriers in knowing who you are and what you are. Unlearning whatever you have learnt is the only way to know the truth. However, unlearning is the most difficult thing for humans - The Wise Species.
It is harder than the toughest examination you have faced to learn something. Try unlearning the smallest/easiest thing you think you have learnt. Note that learning here does not mean studying subjects, because you can very easily forget whatever you studied or mugged up to clear the exam. Learning means developing the perceptions, developing the skills to survive, developing the believes.
Can you unlearn riding a bike, can you unlearn swimming? The obvious answer is no. The acquired knowledge creates barrier between you and truth and make you think that you are different than others in world, that you are greater/superior than others. You are not. You are the same as any person walking besides you on the road. You are very much the Nobel prize winner scientist and you very much the beggar on the traffic signal. It is hard for you to see the truth. Because accumulated loads of knowledge in your mind is now screaming inside your head, "Stay away from this rubbish. There is nothing like absolute truth. Just ignore it. Read something good. Learn something more".
Unlearning is what it takes to realise that maybe I don't know the truth yet. Maybe it is truth all over except in my understanding. Everyone around you is you again. All differences are created by mind which is nothing but a mechanism which works on acquired knowledge. It can only tell you what it was fed. It can give you hundreds of logical reasons to not believe what you are reading now. The moment you would be able to shutdown mind and start living the LIFE from heart and instinct again, you will be back on the path to the ultimate truth and possibilities to break free. All saints have been saying the same thing, requesting you to walk the right path. This sounds impossible however it is not. It is definitely hard but only till you get blessed with the Truth. The selected few who would do this would free themselves from cycle of birth and death.
Do you know you lived on this earth with Rama, Krushna, Buddha, Mahaveer, Jesus...? You lived in all ages and you are still living and you will keep living. You cannot break free because you don't know who you are and where you belong. Every time you get born, you get one more opportunity to break free, you get the clean slate, a clean white stain free cloth. However every time you keep missing on it. Every time you spoil, tarnish the cloth. And you keep doing it throughout your LIFE by your deeds based on the acquired sensory knowledge. You think you posses or hold this knowledge whereas in reality it is the knowledge which possesses you, masters you. When you are a child you rely more on heart and less on mind. You rely on warmth, touch, emotions, love. As you grow up, this balance changes. Mind takes over heart and you start relying on knowledge. And you are up for one more tiring iteration of birth and death.
Can you wash the stains from your cloth and can you keep the cloth clean and return back as it was given to you when you are summoned by death? The cloth will be examined in courts of almighty and even a small spot would throw you back in the roller coaster again. The subject is deep and abstract and this tiny article is not going to help if the door of your mind is not already ajar. However all journeys begin with a step and this is the journey towards your final destination where all journeys come to end. So challenge yourself - UNLEARN.
