Heart, Brain And Mind


Many people do not believe that there is something like a heart inside us. They think that whenever a heart is mentioned, it is physical organ only. But then no one can deny existence of mind. Mind is not brain. Mind is also an abstract entity, like heart, which exists\work only till we are conscious. The moment we die, faint or sleep, they go dormant. Brain-Heart\Brain-Mind connection is broken. However brain remains intact. When someone pricks you in sleep, the nervous system sends signals to brain which then send signals to body to wake up and fight. This is a survival mechanism. However you won't feel the pain until you are awake.


If brain was the one responsible for feeling, we would have felt it all in sleep and unconscious state too. We sometimes have dreams and some dreams may be lucid enough to engage back your mind and heart and that's when you sometime wake up screaming and perspiring. With only brain at work this wouldn't and shouldn't happen because brain knows what its doing.

 When baby is in the womb, heart(the abstract one) is at work even before brain is completely developed. Most of the sensory organs are not yet fully functional. Still if mother feels gloomy the baby feel it too. If mother is happy and elated the baby plays and kicks. This is not a brain-brain connection. Baby is definitely not reading mother's brain. It is a heart to heart connection. Ponder on following idioms:
  • My heart goes out to you
  • Have a heart of gold
  • From the bottom of one’s heart
  • Tug at someone’s heartstrings
  • Wear someone’s heart on one’s sleeve
  • Young at heart
  • With all one’s heart and soul
  • Eat your heart out
Can you imagine replacing heart with brain here? 

 No, because it is not a brain affair. Mind, which is playground of thoughts can be unreliable and tricks us into doing all kinds of things. Heart on other hand will always see it right, show it right, feel it right, do it right. For e.g. your heart will always go out for a begging child knocking on your car window and would want you to help. However mind which is an accomplice of brains will give you several reason why you should not.



Across the world in different cultures and languages, you will find the mention of (abstract) heart. This cannot be a coincidence. The literature world will be robbed to rags if we simply decide to disqualify everything that involve 'The Heart'.

 So to conclude, we do have a miracle called heart inside us. It is a non-physical/abstract entity. Heart is the seat or station for our feelings.
Have your heart in the right place!

Ego Self-Treatment

(Disclaimer: The article is an outcome of my exploration and experience about dealing with the ego.  I frankly admit that it is easier said than done and I am still struggling. Let me ask one hackneyed question, that we keep hearing, reading but don't really bother to ponder upon. What is the meaning of our existence in this world? We Failed Our Children

Smothering education in masks  16 months is not a short period. We have seen enormous amount of work getting done in this Corona pandemic. Healthcare upgrade was phenomenal even if far from sufficient. IT industry flourished a lot in this period because they have accepted the new normal and adapted to the demands. Work from home turned out to be a win-win situation for both employees and employers. One sector however got completely overlooked by the govt. of Bharat that is Education .  Government never appeared to be determined to solve the problems faced by education sector.   Let's keep aside the different religious faiths and beliefs about incarnation and all and keep it simple. We have been gifted with this one LIFE And the life consists of uncountable presents - the NOW moments. We have been getting advice from all human cultures to live in present as past is dead and dark and future is imaginary. The only thing we should carry with us from past in learning. Of course there is no harm to carry on memories from past life and of your loved ones, with the condition that those give you positivity and power.
