Good Bye 2020

Image
Let's keep aside the different religious faiths and beliefs about incarnation and all and keep it simple. We have been gifted with this one LIFE And the life consists of uncountable presents - the NOW moments. We have been getting advice from all human cultures to live in present as past is dead and dark and future is imaginary. The only thing we should carry with us from past in learning. Of course there is no harm to carry on memories from past life and of your loved ones, with the condition that those give you positivity and power. And still you should hardly waste your time dwelling in them. Same is the case for future. It's an unknown time and space terrain where the rays of the Sun of our Life haven't reached yet. Hence it is definitely not wise to waste your time too much in contemplations and imaginations. If you dwell in your past or dream about your future, you are doing that in present which is your LIFE and in the process you are stealing the moments from your...

Ego Self-Treatment

Image
(Disclaimer: The article is an outcome of my exploration and experience about dealing with the ego.  I frankly admit that it is easier said than done and I am still struggling. Results vary person to person, depending on sincerity of actions in the process.)   Ego is an abundant material, we can easily see ego in others but we are somehow blind towards self-ego. Some of us admit to themselves being egotist.  Now the question is, how bad is your ego? Your close ones can answer it better than anyone else in world. We are pretty good in pretending to be a good human being at our workplaces or in distant relations. But our near and dear ones face our ego bursts almost everyday. It takes courage and conviction to take this self-assessment, but sooner the better. Be forthcoming, frank and open on this activity. Ask your close friends and family to assess you on ego scale 1 to 10. If they bypass your questions and/or are reluctant to share their opinion about you being an e...

Do Stretch Yourselves

Image
A quote says, All man’s troubles arise from the fact that we do not know what we are and do not agree on what we want to be. Your life is not only yours. It belongs to the entire human race. Whatever body structure, features and powers you are enjoying today are the outcome of making and doing of the human race until your birth. All that got used more and often, went on becoming better and better. All that was not put to use was ultimately shed away. Shedding the tail was not a necessity, it was an outcome of the choices made by our ancestors.  A choice as insignificant as rolling your eyeballs in all directions and trying to stretch and extend your eyesight is going to decide the actual vision span for human race in future. You can stretch the angles now to maintain what was gifted to you. Or you can be ignorant and/or selfish not to do that because you do not need it in your life. But the future generations won't have this choice. They will be born with reduced vision span and ma...

Good Bye 2019

Image
Friends since past few years we have been taking our life's retrospective on the last day of the year. We do touch upon many topics like where we started last year and where we have reached. Are we a better person today as compared to last 31st December.  We have been maintaining two lists, remember? First, the list of people whom you would like to say thanks for contributing to your life positively by offering a help howsoever small. Second, the list of people who would be saying thanks to you because you did the same with them: helped those people knowingly or unknowingly. We agreed that whenever we get a chance to help someone we should treat it as an opportunity to become a better person. When I tell you guys to do so, of course I myself do the same. I write daily diary and last two sentences cover what help did I receive today and what help did I offer today. These notations on every page help me assess myself on this last day. And you know what, I am not very happ...

Making Provision or Earning Fortune?

Image
Let me ask one hackneyed question, that we keep hearing, reading but don't really bother to ponder upon. What is the meaning of our existence in this world? Of course there cannot be single answer to it and I am definitely not going into spiritual aspect of it. For a common man, what is the purpose of existence. To live a successful life - right? Whatever maybe the definition of success but everyone wants to be successful in life. In different roles, we assess out success based on relevant criteria. A successful businessman, artist, player. A successful family man, parent, husband\wife. As parents, your responsibility is to make provisions for your children till they become independent. However most people mistake making provisions as earning fortunes. Struggle is necessary in life. Struggle is what prepare one for life. Struggle makes an individual mentally strong and help develop the surviving skills required in future. A life without struggle also robs one of invalua...

Identity Wars On Internet

Image
'Title Wars' over internet, especially on professional platforms like LinkedIn are far more entertaining than 'Star Wars'. Everyone wants to load the title line with amazing and creative titles. More than 80% people run out of space and character limit but not the imaginations. Even the people who pretend that they are indifferent to titles end up bragging about that in the title field itself:). Come on! You could have simply left it blank. So there must be something in the title. Is the title supposed to give the glimpse of your identity? And if yes, what identity are we talking about? Because there is no denying that the internet has brought us to a world where you can wear multiple identities. Naturally every human being would like to present oneself as an ideal individual. Whether it comes to work life or personal life, we would like to do better and be better. However, it comes down to various life skills which determines if we could do it.  This coveted gap...

You Too ???

Image
Apart from the names being thrown in air, did #MeToo allegations really surprise anyone? Not only industry fraternity but almost everyone has some idea about the dark sides of this glamorous industry. Casting couch is a wide open truth. And has remained in discussion over all these years. #MeToo is simply the extension. But the timing and the method raises a BIG BIG question mark. If you try to find one commonality among women driving #MeToo is that they have either failed in or finished with their careers. Hence no risk for them now. They all waited until they were convinced that its finished. If Tanushree Dutta had even a single film on floor, we would have seen her going gaga over how her costars and seniors helped her. How they made her feel comfortable and what not. That's why, I see this as a well plotted conspiracy. Intentions are evil. Crimes like rape cannot be proved in court of law after 10 years. Evidences are gone rather allowed to be washed away. Or did ...

Why Not To Buy Hefty Bikes

Image
Hefty bikes from Royal Enfield, H & D, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha etc. are solely to satiate your driving passion. You can enjoy the serene long drives and excursions on these. Apart from that,  there is no logical reason to buy hefty power bikes.  These bikes are not designed as city-ride bikes. The power, size and features in fact are counter productive for city commute. Increased affordability and decreased common sense of urban population had led to these monsters crowding the roads. Here are few reasons why not to buy them for daily commute: 1. As mentioned in the beginning, these are not designed to be used as city bikes 2. Fuel inefficiency - Mileage is as low as 20 kmpl although claims are as high as 35 kmpl 3. Costs are unjustified. Some bikes are as expensive as luxury cars. 4. Creates chaos in traffic. Our traffic sense and race to break all rules adds to the nightmare 5. The firing sound, exhaust thrust causes inconvenience to fellow riders on road ...

Is It Cost Of Education, Really?

Image
I have mentioned this in my some of previous posts. We need better regulation and control over private education institutes. We need to get these education mafias under scanner.  Education is a basic right of people. However, if we see today, it has become business of its own kind. Higher education is hardly in the means for poor and even lower middle class. Even in USA, the situation of higher education is not that different. Is it a conspiracy to keep the costs ridiculously high? If not, what can be done to address the issue? How can we curb the costs to bring it in common man's reach? I feel pity and aghast for the parents and children both when I hear the school tuition fees in urban private schools. For nursery and KG, which does not even qualify as education on records, the tuition fees ranges from 25 thousand to 2 lac. That's ridiculous, outrageous, disgusting and what not. There are too many questions in my mind and too many problems to solve. We need to rejuvenate t...
